What's in the app

Everything in one tap

Built for carers in the field. Fast, simple, designed for one-handed use.

📅
Today's schedule
See your visits for today and the rest of the week at a glance. Client name, address, time and travel info.
📋
Care plan and risks
Open a client's active risks and their full care plan from the visit card, before you arrive. Risks first, so you walk in knowing what matters.
📍
GPS clock-in / out
Tap to clock in when you arrive. GPS confirms you were at the door. That is Electronic Call Monitoring (ECM), and it is the proof your agency needs. You do nothing extra.
🧭
Navigate to the visit
One tap opens the address in Google Maps, Apple Maps or Waze. Pick your favourite once and the app remembers it.
📝
Care notes
Write up your notes after every visit. Saved instantly, timestamped, in your name. No paper sheet to drop at the office, no writing it up from memory on Friday.
📊
Charts and monitoring
Log food and fluid intake, output, stool, observations and skin and wounds at the point of care. Your office turns on the charts each client needs, so you only see what is relevant to the person in front of you.
🕐
Hours and visit history
Every hour auto-collected from your clock-in records, no paper sheets. Submit to your office in one tap, and look back at any visit you have completed.
🌴
Holiday requests
Request leave straight from the app. Your manager approves it in the office dashboard and it lands back on your phone.
🛡
DBS and documents
See your DBS status, contracts and training certificates in one place. Your office keeps them current, which keeps you compliant.
💬
Office messaging
Direct line to your care coordinator. Quick questions, shift changes, handover notes, all in one place.
🔒
Secure by design
GDPR compliant, UK hosted. You can delete your account from inside the app at any time.
Why your agency asked you to use it. Regulation 17 asks for records that are accurate, contemporaneous and secure. Every clock-in, care note and chart you log in CareAH is timestamped and attributed to you, so your agency walks into inspection with the evidence already in order. Getting started

How carers join CareAH

Carers don't sign up directly — your agency invites you through their CareAH dashboard. Here's the flow:

1
Your agency adds you
Your care coordinator or HR manager invites you from the Staff & HR section of their CareAH dashboard.
2
You get an email
Check your inbox for a CareAH invite. Click the secure link inside — it's branded with your agency's name.
3
Set your password
Pick a password you'll remember. Takes 30 seconds. You're now set up.
4
Sign in any time
Sign in via the app or at careah.co.uk/login. Today's schedule will be waiting.

Common questions

Carer app FAQs

What is the CareAH carer app?
It's the mobile app care workers use to run their day. Your visits, the client's care plan and risks, GPS clock-in and out, care notes, food and fluid charts, observations, skin and wounds, your hours and your holiday requests. It's free, and it's on the App Store and Google Play. Your agency runs the other side of it on the CareAH agency platform.
Is the CareAH carer app free?
Yes. Carers never pay. Your agency subscribes to CareAH and you're invited in as part of their team.
What is Electronic Call Monitoring (ECM)?
ECM is how a home care agency proves a visit actually happened: who attended, when they arrived and when they left. Traditionally it meant phoning a landline from the client's home. On CareAH you tap to clock in and your phone's GPS confirms you were at the address, so the record is made for you. Nothing extra to remember. More on how this fits inspection on our CQC information page.
Does the app work on iPhone and Android?
Both. Download the CareAH carer app free from the App Store or Google Play.
Can I use CareAH if my agency isn't on it?
Not yet. The carer app only works for staff of an agency that uses CareAH. If yours doesn't, point your manager at CareAH for agencies, or browse CQC-registered agencies near you.
How do I get access?
Your agency invites you from the Staff and HR section of their dashboard. You'll get an email with a secure link. Carers can't self-register, which is deliberate: it means nobody who isn't employed by a real agency can ever see a client's records.

Ready to sign in?

If your agency has invited you, you're ready to go. If not — find a CQC-registered agency near you.
