Care At Home (CareAH) is operated by IIT Software Limited, a company registered in England and Wales (Company No. 06372333). We operate an online marketplace connecting families seeking home care with CQC-registered care agencies. By using our platform, you agree to these Terms of Service.
You must be at least 18 years old to create an account. All care agencies listed on Care At Home (CareAH) are sourced directly from the CQC public register — only CQC-registered agencies appear on our platform. Agencies claiming their profile must hold a valid CQC registration at all times. You agree to provide accurate information during registration.
CareAH provides a technology platform that facilitates introductions and bookings between families and care agencies. We are not a care provider. Care services are provided directly by the agency under a separate agreement. CareAH is not responsible for the quality, safety, or legality of care services delivered.
Agency profiles on CareAH are sourced directly from the Care Quality Commission (CQC) public register under the Open Government Licence. CareAH syncs this data weekly but cannot guarantee that information — including CQC ratings, inspection dates, registration status, addresses, or contact details — is accurate, complete, or up to date at the time of viewing.
CQC ratings reflect the outcome of the most recent CQC inspection and may not reflect the current quality of care. Families should verify agency details — including registration status and latest inspection results — directly with the agency and on the CQC website at cqc.org.uk before making any care decisions. CareAH accepts no liability for decisions made in reliance on data sourced from the CQC register.
CareAH is not affiliated with or endorsed by the Care Quality Commission.
Agencies must: (a) hold a valid CQC registration throughout their use of the platform; (b) ensure all staff have appropriate DBS checks; (c) maintain adequate public liability and employer's liability insurance; (d) comply with all applicable employment, care quality, and data protection laws.
CareAH provides tools for agencies to store client records, care notes, staff information and visit records for the purposes of care coordination and CQC compliance. Agencies are solely responsible for ensuring that any data they store on the CareAH platform complies with the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR), the Data Protection Act 2018, and all applicable data protection laws.
CareAH is not designed or intended for the storage of special category data as defined under UK GDPR — including detailed medical records, clinical diagnoses, prescription information, or other sensitive health data. Agencies must not use CareAH as a clinical records system. Care notes entered on the platform should be limited to operational visit records only.
Agencies are responsible for obtaining appropriate consent from clients and their families for any data stored on the platform, and for maintaining their own Data Processing Agreements where required. IIT Software Limited acts as a data processor on behalf of agencies in respect of client and staff data stored on CareAH.
Families may post care requests, view agency profiles, and book care through the platform. Families agree to provide accurate information about care needs, pay invoices on time, and treat agency staff with respect.
Agencies pay a monthly subscription fee to access the CareAH platform: Starter £49/month, Growth £99/month, Enterprise £199/month (all + VAT). Families use the platform free of charge. For care delivered through the platform, CareAH collects payment from the family and pays the agency 90% of the verified care value — CareAH retains 10% as a platform fee (subject to 30 days' notice of change). Payments are processed by Stripe. Care services are VAT-exempt under HMRC Notice 701/2. CareAH's platform and technology fees are subject to VAT at the standard rate.
Reviews must be honest and based on genuine experience. All reviews on CareAH are tied to a verified booking ID -- it is impossible to submit a review without a completed booking. CareAH may remove content that violates our Community Guidelines. You grant CareAH a non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to display content you submit.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, CareAH's liability for any claim shall not exceed the fees paid to CareAH in the 12 months preceding the claim. CareAH is not liable for indirect or consequential losses, or for personal injury arising from care services.
Either party may terminate an account at any time. CareAH may immediately suspend or terminate accounts for breach of these Terms, non-payment, or regulatory non-compliance. Outstanding invoices remain payable on termination.
Families may cancel a booking by giving at least 48 hours' notice via the platform. Cancellations with less than 48 hours' notice may be subject to a cancellation fee as agreed with the agency at time of booking. Agencies may cancel a booking only in exceptional circumstances and must notify the family immediately via the platform. CareAH reserves the right to suspend agencies that cancel bookings without reasonable cause.
In the event of a dispute between a family and an agency, both parties should first attempt to resolve it directly via the platform's messaging system. If unresolved within 5 working days, either party may escalate to CareAH by contacting us via our contact form. CareAH will review the dispute and may mediate, but is not obligated to act as arbitrator. For safeguarding concerns involving vulnerable adults, contact the relevant local authority safeguarding team or CQC directly at cqc.org.uk.
GPS records as evidence: Where a dispute concerns whether a visit was delivered, CareAH's GPS clock-in and clock-out records are the primary source of evidence. A visit is only billed if a valid GPS record exists for both clock-in and clock-out. If no GPS record exists, the visit was not billed and the family was not charged. Agencies are responsible for ensuring their carers clock in and out correctly on every visit.
These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you by email at least 14 days before material changes take effect. Continued use of the platform constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
